Fox News reports the total amount of outstanding small business loans at the end of 2012 was $586 billion. That’s a $2 billion increase from the third quarter.
The FDIC began tracking loans on a quarterly basis in 2010. This is the first quarterly gain in small business lending since 2010.
Even though small business loans were up last quarter, the small business lending environment is still weak.
